Headliner: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness Lauded for creating emotive, astute rock with his L.A.-based bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin, a sea change occurred for prolific pianist-performer Andrew McMahon around 2014. The old-school model of the music biz had collapsed, allowing McMahon freedom, but a wealth of open doors also brought pressure. McMahon was truly operating In the Wilderness. It was an apt descriptor for a beauty and wildness that was at once terrifying and freeing. As McMahon walked through his creative open door, he wondered, “What does me making music 14, 15 years into my career look like?” His answer: “It was about incubating my creative process with a handful of trusted people, for a journey and end result that’s spiritually fulfilling and a purely artistic endeavor, not a commodity.” Discover More Here

Borderline is comprised of six members residing in the rural area of California, Kentucky, and brings to the stage a great mix of 70s, 80s, and Southern rock along with some contemporary favorites and a bit of classic country. Although only about nine years old – it was formed in October of 2010, its humble beginnings taking place at a local winery – the band is not new to the music scene. Three played with the locally popular Countryfied band, a group of great guys who got their start in 1983, and three played for Backroads. Lead singer Melissa Conway, who belts out powerful vocals covering everything from Heart to Stevie Nicks to Pink, joins husband Don Conway who covers such greats as Tom Petty, Bob Seger, and Johnny Cash and plays rhythm. Tim Baynum keeps audiences in awe with his spot-on guitar leads while Mike Seiter energizes the group on the drums alongside brother Mickey Seiter who sets the pace with his thumping bass runs. The most recent to join the group is the talented Brian Lauer, adding the needed keyboards to the mix. The group has a growing fan base, following them to such places as the Riverside Marina in Dayton, Kentucky, the Ft. Thomas Pub, and Seven Wells Winery in Grants Lick. Borderline also plays at local festivals, parties, and the occasional wedding and is looking forward to expanding its venue horizons. For further info check out www.facebook.com/borderlinenky
